Purpose of the course is to lead the students through the whole publishing process. So we took exercises in writing the methods section, results, discussion, title, abstract or for example the cover letter. We also discussed the best method of choosing the best journal, what are the acceptance rates, what the impact factor means and many other issues regarding the acceptance process.
I was working in a group of four great doctors (Italy, two from Greece and Czech Republic). Working in group was a good way for rich discussion, since everyone has different knowledge and experience. Finally a day from day we got better and through the three days we wrote a perfect paper about the role of yoga in treatment of lower back pain.
The think I mostly appreciate are the language tips and instructions we got from John since as a non-native speaker this is my major problem while publishing a paper. SO many thanks to the ESA and organisers from Greece! They did a great job in wonderful place.
