Induction of general anaesthesia
You are an anaesthesiologist. A 50-year-old woman with a body weight of 60 kg comes to the operating room. She was admitted for elective laparoscopic cholecystectomy for simple cholecystolithiasis. The patient has no comorbidities, is not taking any medications, and has no known allergies. She has never had surgery. Sufentanil and propofol were used for induction of general anaesthesia, followed by rocuronium for myorelaxation. The intubation was performed without complications, we set the ventilator on volume-controlled ventilation, we add Sevovoflurane to the inhaled mixture, and we check the blood pressure. We detect hypotension. What is the most likely cause of hypotension after induction of anaesthesia?
