Altitude sickness
The 40year-old climber, a member of the expedition to the Pamir Mountains in Kyrgyzstan, the fifth day at an altitude of about 4 200 MASL begins to complain of fatigue and headaches.
How should these symptoms be treated at this altitude?
Help
This is a classic fatigue from physical exertion. We don't have to pay much attention to these symptoms and we can continue with the ascent.
Headache can be alleviated by analgesics and sufficient amount of fluids. If symptoms disappear, we will continue ascending the next day.
It is necessary to insist on immediate descent of the climber, because even the slightest symptom of the disease can seriously endanger the whole expedition.
