Peripartal bleeding is the world's leading cause of maternal death; its incidence varies between 3-5% of all births. The algorithm correctly points out the difficulties of this major situation and the need for rapid and accurate response to the altered state of the patient. Follow-up action is logical, primarily focuses on monitoring the overall condition of the patient and immediate institution of volume replacement. The steps continue together with Obstetric measures, general measures, and adequate substitution of blood components, including treatment of rFVIIa. Practically, shown is the latest treatment recommendations issued by professional societies as a consensus statement in 2011. The implementation of these recommendations into practice requires not only saving the life of the mother but also her fertility.
